A 26 year old female approached MediOrbis in desperation to assist her in finding a mental health solution. The patient in question had a long history of mental health disorders, most notably severe anxiety and depression. Immediately after her high school graduation she began experimenting with narcotics and became addicted, requiring multiple inpatient hospitalizations and long-term care with Suboxone. Having struggled mightily with addiction, she was finally able to find support from the university mental health department, maintain a steady state and graduate. After completing her studies, she returned home to find local employment, only to find that the first available psychiatry appointment was not for two months. She worried that without a mental health support system she would relapse, and all of the hard work from the last few years would be for naught.

Thankfully, MediOrbis was able to immediately assist. She was assessed by a primary care provider who refilled her anti-anxiety medications, providing pharmacological support. She was then enrolled in the behavioral and mental health coaching support program with a provider who saw her twice a week. Forming a bond with a caring and dedicated coach allowed her to feel comfortable in knowing that she had a full support system behind her, and the team of providers to care for her. After two months, her care was handed off to her psychiatrist and therapist, and she has been doing well ever since.

At first, I was unsure of what to expect with the “telemedicine” approach of mental health. The most impactful relationship I have developed is that of my mental health coach, A. She encourages me weekly to make uncomfortable advancements in my life and with her help I have gained better coping mechanisms in relation to my anxiety and depression. Her personal approach is very comforting to me. In closing, in this day and age, I find it very impressive that an international organization still emphasizes the need to know patients names and strives for excellence.
